Empowering the future is a training course about empowering youngsters with arts and media, based on four best practices from Amsterdam, Antwerp, Barcelona and Berlin. In each city a university conducted research through these ‘power labs’ to point out which factors were relevant with respect for the diversity in cultures, languages, habits and styles of the facilitator.
The training course has a modular structure. It can be used in very different contexts, for very different formats and for diverse groups of youth workers, teachers, facilitators and coaches that deal with youngsters. The modular structure enables the trainer to build his own training course for his or her specific group.
The training course consists of ten modules. The various modules are classified in three levels:
- first level modules: material based on each of the power labs
- second level modules: material based on the comparison of the four power labs
- third level modules: integration and practice
